Hello all, I have heard that me and a lot of others like the idea of premium users giving points to others. I have heard that Admin has a command to give points to everyone and wondered if he could let premiums use that command or a command like it to give points. Note- that this would be only a premium feature. what do you all think? Admin PLEASE add this feature! a lot of people have been wanting this for a long time. what do you all think?

first time i read this, it sounded like it could have been a post by tango hopper, i know he is like that. secondly, as far as i'm aware this giving points thing is only for the 1st week in april, and thirdly? giving points? well, i'd go for it, if the points could actually be used for something good, but as it stands, transfering points from user to user, does not apeal
i'm going to correct some of this.
first, the points will be given through the entire month of april. second, eman's idea is a good one.

Ok, I mentioned this to J in qn, and he said he wasn't against the idea. And while it's hard to see a really good reason for doing this, it would allow premiums to give their friends points so they could play games again if they are unlucky enough to lose them all. Maybe we could devise a way of users earning the right to be given these points, i don't know.
well, maybe, though if the user loses all the points on a game, that's there problem, they should bet less
yeah. a lot of people want to be able to transfer points. That would be cool.
and i wished the points could be used for something like if someone was a standard member 10000 points would add 10 seconds to the 20 second limmit on audio profiles or something like that.

Well, I can see the idea of giving others your points, but not of just giving points away. Think of it this way. You can't just give people money that tthe bank owned or just take moeny that isn't rightfully yours, can you? I know it's not the same thing, but the concept is the same.
I still debate on why we need this, the points are absolutely useless. I'm mean yes alot of people on here compete with one another point-wise, nut really, I don't see this happening they have no other use.
The only way I would be for this is if there were some type of RPG game on here which you can buy items, weps, magicks and such. If they do such thing as an RPG, I got ideas for one.
Or somethig like prizes that you can use your points for like ZoneBBS T-Shirts, Cups, BackPacks, Stereos or whatever.

I just thought of something and i hope you like it. If it's not a good idea i apologise in advance. I usually post things as soon as i think of them so i don't think about them much.
Anyway in Geeks R us when people ask questions they could offer points to the people who successfully answer their questions and help them so users would have one more reason to answer.
So what do you think?
Yes, Nikos, I for one like this idea. Various tech help sites such as experts exchange implement this concept.
Question gets posed, several answers are provided, and the questioner gives points to the response that is best--solves their problem, namely.

That's an interesting idea Nikos! In terms of what you can do with your points, we are actually in the process of setting something up regarding this, but I canm't see more. All I can say is to stay tuned. Oh, and no, I promise this isn't a joke. LOL
Ah, kinda like Yahoo! Answers or some of those other sites. That's an intriguing idea.
I like Nikos's idea, but, I'd like to see it extended to zonebbs q&a. I don't know who would pick the best answer, but I guess that could be worked out.
Maybe the community leaders could pick the best answers in a given amount of time--assuming they haven't been fired yet. <lol>

I really like this idea, in several ways. i know someone who had 0 points, and i couldn't give them any of mine, so just a simple thing of giving would do fine by me. and yeah, i like the idea about points in the p c q and a board, i know i've posted in there a few times and some people have come up with very very good answers, so yeah, all systems go for me on this one.
Actually, I thought of that very idea once I read nikos' post. Implementing something similar to experts exchange, or as i like to call it, expert sex change, sounds like a good idea.
Actually, if you think of the idea of being able to give away points freely, that opens up a whole new arena of fun for the zone.
If there were a command like /give person points, which would debet your account the number of points and credit the user's account the number of points.
Just one example of what could be done:
I could start a board topic called "the scariest ghost story", and offer a prize of a hundred points to the winner, to be anounced in a week.
I think such a contest might arouse some interest.
